Review and Swatches: BYS Blush in Coral

This blush was another prize I won from Hannah's 100 follower giveaway. This was another prize I was particularly excited to win, because Coral is a blush that is somewhat raved about in the Aussie beauty blogging community, and I now know why.

Holiday Nail Polish Haul Part 2: OPI

From Left to Right: Gone Gonzo!, Gettin' Miss Piggy With It, Fresh Frog of Bel Air - true colours

I'm a big fan of OPI nail polishes, and it seems like the majority of the beauty blogging community are too, so when I saw the New OPI Muppets Holiday 2011 Holiday Collection, I knew I had to have it. The collection was released to celebrate the release of the Muppets movie, and contains 6 glitter polishes and 6 shimmers. I originally only liked the three I purchased, with the other glitters similar to those I already have and the others I deemed to be nothing special, but after reviewing other swatches, I will definitely be sourcing the silver and rose gold shimmers.

Review: Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector (BB Cream)

When I won Hannah's 100 follower giveaway, one of the things I was most excited to try was the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector, or Australia's first drugstore version of a BB Cream. BB creams have been all the rage in the beauty community lately, and the reviews I heard about this product were mixed, so I was excited to finally try it for myself.

Nail Of The Day: Black Crackle

I got this Rimmel I Love Lasting Finish polish (in 025 Strawberry Fizz) in a pack, and had not used it before yesterday. I think it is such a gorgeous baby pink, and to only add to the adorable-ness of this product, it is scented! The package claims that when dried, the polish has a fruit scent, and I could really smell a (artificial) candy fruit smell on my nails, which lingered onto the following day. I topped it off with the OPI Black Shatter coat and my Sally Hansen top coat.

Beauty Down Under's Giveaway Haul!

When I was told that I had won Hannah's 100 follower giveaway, I was ecstatic! I've never one anything before, and her's was one of the first blogs I'd began to follow, not to mention the prizes were amazing.

Major Haul - 15 items for $55: Bourjois, Covergirl and More

Every six months or so, there is a cosmetics warehouse sale near where I live. The brands there are Max Factor, Covergirl, Bourjois, Essence, Ulta3 and Elite Professional. The best part is that nothing is over $10! Now there isn't the latest products or the best variety of shades and colours, but there is enough of a range of items that everyone will certainly find things they will like.

Holiday Nail Polish Haul Part 1: China Glaze

From left to right: Holly-day, Glittering Garland, Twinkle Lights, Snow Globe

I've never used a China Glaze polish before, but after hearing so many great things about the brand in general, I've been wanting to give them a shot for a while. When I saw the China Glaze Let It Snow 2011 Holiday Collection, I knew I had to make these the beginning of my collection! There are so many beautiful shades that just scream 'Christmas' (or holiday season in general) to me, so I had to limit myself to four, but there are two more I'm debating about getting.

Review: 10.0.6 No Time To Shine Oil-Absorbing Mud Mask

Take control of excess oil with No Time To Shine. The Sea Minerals and Kaolin Clay are the star ingredients that draw out and eliminate excess oil. Couple these with Calendula and Sea Kelp and your complexion will be beautifully balanced and toned.

This is not the first 10.0.6 product I've used - I love the pore strips, hated the tinted moisturizer and was wary of the Deep Down Detox Mud Mask (much for the same reasons of this). The bright and modern packaging was what first attracted me to the products and they do seem to be quality products, but I think they would work best for certain types of skin.

Review: Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner Pencil in 'Royal Blue'

As you all know, I am slightly scared of colourful eyeshadow. I am a strictly neutral eye girl. However, Priceline are having another 20% off sale on Rimmel cosmetics, and when I saw this range of eyeliners for $6.80AU, I couldn't resist picking this up. I already have the Jet Black eyeliner that I love (it's much more soft and creamy then a regular pencil, although the staying power isn't fantastic) so I thought that this would be a good way to slowly venture into colours.

Australis Paparazzi Perfect High Definition Blush in 'Flash It'

Perfectly blended, multicoloured blush allows you to customise and create the exact shade you are desperate for! Formulated with light reflecting and balancing photochromatic pigments so that you look just as hot in photos as you do in the mirror! The pore-invisible technology blurs pores, fine lines and other imperfections leaving a perfectly flawless and glowing finish. Enriched with jojoba and grape seed oil to lock in skin moisture.

I don't know about you, but to me, Australis was just another brand in Priceline which I skipped over. Until recently, I didn't own anything from Australis, but that is slowly changing! With the recent makeover Australis had, not only did packaging become more sleek and high-end looking, there was also the release of the new Paparazzi Perfect range, featuring a new selection of cosmetics aimed at making you look as good in photos as you do in person. Let me tell you, so far, the products do not disappoint!

October Favorites

So, November is finally here, and I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by! Maybe because it was a new year for me, or just because uni was so fast paced, but this year has just gone sooooooo quickly! Anyway, a few of these products i've had for a while and they've made their way into my daily routine, but i've never shown them before, so they deserve to shown. The rest, are just products I've picked up recently and have started loving!

Urban Decay's Naked Palette - I've had this palette for a few months and I adore it so much!! The colours are extremely pigmented, and even though I haven't used the dark colours as much, this palette is simply amazing and will forever be a favorite.

Maybelline's Falsies Mascara - The only thing I can say about this is 'WOW'. I picked this up on sale because i've heard so much about it, and i'm not sure if its because if the curved wand or the formula, but this mascara is brilliant. It really gives the look of false eyelashes!

Rimmel London Kate Collection Long Lasting Lipstick 05 - I've mentioned this before a few times, and all I can say is that this berry lipstick is affordable, the perfect formula and amazing colour.

Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Foundation in Sand Beige - This foundation gives great coverage and long wear. The only problem is there are like, 5 colours that are nearly identical, and I just happened to pick one, that if applied too heavily, has the potential to turn orange. If I apply just a thin, even coat this foundation is the bomb.

BYS blusher in CandyFloss - A really light candy pink that, I think, is a perfect colour for a nice soft flush of colour.

Sportsgirl Nail It! Nail polish in Guava - I haven't used this in a while as I'm waiting until we have good weather because this colour begs for sun! A few coats of this gorgeous coral and it it reaches full coverage. The only problem is it chips relatively quickly.

Sally Hansen Base and Top Coat - I got sent this after I complained about a Rimmel nail polish staining my nails yellow (mentioned here) and it's actually really good. Not that I would expect anything else from a Sally Hansen product. This is a must have when doing my nails.

BYS eyeshadow palette in Metallics - My sister got me this palette ages ago, and I've barely used it, because as you may know, I have a few issues with elaborate eyeshadow, but last week I got this really nice and simple eyeliner look going with the blue and green colours, so now this palette is a favorite of mine! It's also a really cheap and pigmented palette.

Australis Mineral Inject Lipgloss in Lambada - At first I was against this lipgloss because it was a really milky consistency that left visible lines from application, but after a while and very thin application and spreading out with fingers, it has begun to grow on me. A very different colour to anything I have in my collection, and I love the smell!

Lush Cupcake Mask (not pictured) - You know the feeling of a freshly cleansed and moisturized face, after the moisturizer has sunk in, leaving an incredibly smooth face? This is what this mask does! Although a little pricey for the small tub that has a life of only 3 weeks, this chocolate-smelling mask is to die for, and will definitely be repurchased!

Do you have any products you loved this month?
